What We Do
"Human progress is our cause, liberty of thought our supreme wish, freedom of conscience our mission, and the guarantee of equal rights to all people everywhere our ultimate goal." - Scottish Rite Creed
We aim to provide a venue for Freemasons in the Washington, DC metropolitan area to enjoy fellowship among men and brothers with common ideals; to learn and teach, and develop a deeper understanding of Masonic philosophy, and what it means to be a good man and citizen.

Happy 2012!
With the New Year well under way and the Mayan prophesied End of Days just around the corner, we have a lot of work to do and, apparently, not much time left in which to get it all done.
The Bodies of the Valley of Washington have held their elections of officers for the upcoming Scottish Rite year and I am pleased to report we have a fine and capable crew of men and Brothers to lead the bodies, plan the year's program and events, and keep the brethren informed, educated, and on their paths toward personal illumination.
Two upcoming events of particular note are the Installation of Officers, on Saturday, February 4, at 6:00 P.M. Dress is business attire, cap, and jewels. You are invited to bring family and guests. A reception will be held after the installation. Please make the time to see your officers assume their stations, and show them your support.
On Tuesday, February 7, at the Mithras Lodge of Perfection, Venerable Master-elect, Marshall Willner invites members of the Scottish Rite to hear an address and program by the Sovereign Grand Commander, Ronald A. Seale. This will be the first time in many years the Sovereign Grand Commander has spoken at a regular communication of the DC Scottish Rite. It promises to be a memorable occasion.
Dinner will be served at 6:15 P.M., and the Lodge of Perfection will open at 7:30 P.M. I look forward to seeing you there.
Make your Tuesday Night a Rite Night!
